New Sports Technology Company Launches Smartphone Apps for Sports Organizations
XCO SportsLink offers content management solutions for sports organizations to connect directly with their fans.
XCO SportsLink LLC (www.xcosportslink.com), a new Washington, DC area based technology company, has been launched by two former MICROS Systems executives, Chief Technology Officer Paul Armstrong and Executive Vice President Alan Hayman. XCO SportsLink provides content management solutions that are leveraged through mobile media platforms like the Apple iPhoneT and BlackBerry® Wireless Handheld. Sports organizations will be able to connect directly with their fans to share powerful content and create unique experiences using this breakthrough mobile technology.
The XCO SportsLink solution includes a wide range of content and technology services that will enable sports organization to create and manage their content so that fans can easily download dynamic applications to their smartphones. All content will be available through a cellular 3G or Wi-Fi network connection to a fan's smartphone.
Fans will be able to enjoy a wide range of content including video, audio, images, commentary, discussion forums, promotions, and links including access to instant replays from television. XCO SportsLink also empowers fans with unparalleled access to injury updates, real-time statistics, and "inside the locker room" information. This will enable subscribers to be consistently updated with all aspects of their favorite teams and players, whenever and wherever.

Armstrong, Co-founder and CEO, has more than 25 years in software development, sales, business unit and executive management. Prior to founding XCO, Armstrong served as CTO and Executive Vice President of MICROS Systems Inc., a Columbia, MD-based company that provides enterprise applications for the hospitality industry worldwide. Armstrong attended Cambridge University where he earned bachelors and masters degrees in Engineering.
A native of Washington, D.C., Hayman, Co-founder and President, graduated from Boston University with honors from the School of Management. After college, Hayman joined the family business, Hayman Systems, and helped grow the company which became one of the largest point-of-sale dealerships in the US. He launched the first e-commerce site for POS supplies and peripherals which was called POS Depot. In 1999, MICROS Systems acquired Hayman Systems and Hayman became the EVP of Restaurant Sales and Strategies for the company responsible for US operations.
